Competition launched to offer once-in-a-lifetime F1 experience

Exclusive tour of MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team factory on offer
Motorsport enthusiasts are being given the chance to take an exclusive guided tour of the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team’s factory in Brackley, Northamptonshire. The rare opportunity comes as part of the team’s support of National Motorsport Week which takes place from 29 June to 7 July.
Two competition prizes winners plus a guest of their choice will have a rare chance to see inside the factory where more than 500 people work to create cars for the team’s drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg. It is extremely rare that any Formula One team opens its doors to the public, let alone one of the top teams in the championship. Whether an F1 afficionado, a casual viewer, or someone with an interest in high-tech engineering, this promises to be a unique day.
The competition is open during National Motorsport Week and can be entered online at www.nationalmotorsportweek.co.uk Winners will be drawn at random from all those who answer the following question correctly:
What does AMG stand for in ‘MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team?
a. Automotive Mechanical Group
b. Aufrecht Melcher Grossaspach
c. Absolute Motorsport Gurus
Ross Brawn, team principal of MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS said: “National Motorsport Week is a great initiative and we are pleased to be able to offer our support through the unique opportunity to look around our factory in Brackley. The Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) and Motor Sport Association (MSA) do a great job in promoting motorsport in the UK and, of course, our sport would not be able to function without the passionate and committed support of the fans. We are very pleased to be able to give something back and we look forward to welcoming the lucky winners to our factory for what, I’m sure, will be an interesting and unique experience.’’
National Motorsport Week is a special celebration of UK motorsport, jointly promoted by the MIA and the MSA and blasts off with the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. As well as including Britain’s highest profile race meeting, National Motorsport Week also features a wide range of initiatives and activities ranging from novice taster events run by local motor clubs to factory visits and open days at many of the UK’s premier motorsport-focused organisations.
